Category: Playlists

David Bowie’s playlist on Itunes is kind of a perfect relection of him, happily just what I was expecting from this musical madman. Only one song was particularly familiar to me which I really love. The celebrity playlists on Itunes are a very pleasing way to while away some time, encounter new music, and learn a little more about the entertainers that interest you. For example, Kevin Kline (who I adore) had a very short list, mostly classical and not at all what I was expecting from him. Marion Cotillard offered up a very predictable though slightly hodge-podge mixture of moody vocals and eclectic bounce. Being a film lover, I kind of gravitate to the playlists of the actors, but who could resist looking through David Bowie’s records. Happy hunting!

Playlist – Once Upon A Time

The inspiration for this little gem came from the song “Somebody’s Baby” by Jackson Browne. I wanted to build an entire playlist around that kind of fantasy romantic love with a little ’70’s sunshine mixed in. To be clear, this is not just a lovey-dovey romance mix with all the goodies from that category thrown in. To qualify songs had to match not only the content but the style of the parent song. This is the first time I’ve been guided to a whole playlist by one song in particular, but I’m really happy with the way it turned out. Smiles guaranteed!
